No, this post has nothing to do with Urkel. But seriously, did you think I would use that title and not post this picture? Anyway…
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:8)
In a recent CNN Faith blog post, Kerry Egan, a hospice chaplain, explains what she’s learned from her ministry:
It’s pretty difficult to argue with Egan on the second point: we primarily learn “love” from our families. Sadly, many people get a bad education. Her post is short and interesting and I’d encourage you to read it.
For me, her experience highlights the importance of having a God-centered marriage. If Egan is right, and the family is our first “love” classroom, let’s hope that we have a good teacher.
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
(1 Peter 4:8 ESV)
So what is love?
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
(1 John 3:16 ESV)
